Even though I’ve been incredibly busy lately, I have managed to catch several cool flicks in the last few weeks. Having missed many of the Oscar contenders (still haven’t seem Slumdog!) I am playing i little bit of catch up. Last night I finally saw MILK and all I can say is that the power of Film revealed itself in full force. Maybe it was the insanity of my crazy week that set me up, but the emotional reaction that I experienced from watching the story of Harvey Milk’s triumphant and tragic life story was overwhelming.
I was invited to a screening of a movie that is coming out this summer called “The Hurt Locker”, an excellent action film filled with realism and powerful acting, including a truly amazing performance by Jeremy Renner and directed by Kathryn Bigelow of Point Break and Strange Days.
I finally went to one of those newfangled 3d movies which is supposed to change the world forever, but it wasnt the special effects that blew me away, it was the amazing animated story of Coraline!
